Masjid History
Early Beginning
As-Siddiq Muslim Organization was founded by a handful of Muslim brothers who saw a need for a Masjid in the South Jamaica & South Ozone Park area of Queens. The organization started with few but has continued to grow steadily. In 1985 there were a handful of brothers who gathered to pray at a home in Jamaica, Queens. After moving from place to place from 1987 to 1997, Alhamdulillah, the organization was finally able to purchase the land and property at 133rd Street in South Ozone Park (seen here) with the generous contributions from many Muslims. After 7 years at this location, the organization decided to expand and improve its facilities in 2004 by erecting a new Masjid building.
New Building
After many years of construction, Masjid As-Siddiq has been utilizing our new facilities for a some time now. Alhamdulillah, our new space not only serves as a Musalaah for the five daily prayers, Salaat-ul-Jummah on Fridays, and many other prayer services throughout the year.
The Masjid is a place of education with weekly classes for children, men, and women. It is a place for us to gather for weddings and for funerals and other memorable events. It is a place where families gather for monthly educational and social programs on various Islamic topics. It is a place where people are welcomed for Iftar, Dinner, and beautiful recitation of the Quran during Ramadan. It is also a place where our youth have activities and programs such as our Summer program and Family Camping Trip that bring them closer together and closer to the Deen.
We pray that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) blesses our teachers, students, and everyone that participates in our programs and visits us at Masjid As-Siddiq.
